I always recommend newborn photos to take place anytime during baby’s first 10 days of life.  This typically ensures that I capture the sleeping and curled up poses that you see on my website.  After that fleeting stage it becomes close to impossible.  Well, this little peanut was closer to four weeks new and proved to be an exception to the rule.  She was a champ and slept quite soundly for the most part.

Hope all you mommas out there had a wonderful and relaxing Mother’s Day weekend!  Being a mom has been the most amazing yet challenging experience for me but I wouldn’t choose to have it any other way.  The Lord has blessed us beyond measure with two very healthy, smart, joyful and beautiful children.

This past weekend I had the pleasure of meeting a sweet and beautiful family of four.  The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for our outdoor session at Fox Run park.

Meet 8-day new baby Roman.  He was quite the alert little guy for me today even though his mom and dad said he typically sleeps the day away.  We started the vacuum cleaner in a desperate attempt to soothe Roman back to sleep but that trick only worked for a short while, just enough time to capture some super precious moments.  Enjoy this little sneak peek of this little handsome dude.  ;)

As I sit at the computer still in my jammies next to a space heater (it’s a bone-chilling 15 below zero day today!!!), I am a bit shocked that these photos were taken in 68-degree weather only days ago.  This beautiful family was a joy to work with.  Lots of playful giggles making for some great candid shots.  Enjoy your rather large sneak peek “D” family.

This client had such a beautiful backdrop right in their own back yard…a perfect view of the mountains and just the right amount of trees for the sun to peek through without causing much of any glare.  The day was very gloomy (quite rare here in Colorado) but the sun decided to show itself for just one hour, the hour at which I took pictures of this adorable bunch.  More photos from this session can be viewed on my facebook fan page here.

I’ve been dying to try this “sack of potatoes” pose with a newborn but haven’t met one lately who was small or relaxed enough to attempt it…until little baby Benjamin came along…he was the perfect model.  Don’t panic, baby is not doing this on his own…I have my own little “tricks”.  ;)   Enjoy this sneak peak!
