I always encourage my wedding couples to see each other prior to the ceremony for several reasons. First, it releases so much tension building up between the bride and groom therefore allowing them to more thoroughly enjoy and relax during the ceremony. Secondly, it frees up so much more time for bridal portraits, wedding party portraits and family portraits avoiding having to quickly squeeze in these important shots in between the ceremony and reception. Lastly, my second shooter and I are the only ones present to watch and document this special time. We make sure that this moment is kept private/intimate by guiding everyone else to leave the ‘first look’ area, removing any distraction/interruption. Each of my wedding clients have thanked me later for making this happen.
